Digital Transition 2024
M.I.P. is a beneficiary of the "Digital Transition of Lombardy Enterprises" call for proposals funded by the Regional Programme under the European Regional Development Fund 2021/2027 of the Lombardy Region PR ERDF 2021-2027, Action 1.2.3 "Support for the acceleration of the digital transformation process of SME business models."
MIP has planned to introduce a customized cloud solution called MipMan, which will complement the hybrid, portable 3D scanner with metrological features, a dual source, blue laser structured light, and VCSEL infrared light. This scanner is capable of virtually reconstructing objects and complex geometries, thus improving and implementing the development of plastic parts, especially in the automotive sector (simulated reconstruction of body parts for product engineering), and specifically of thermoplastic injection molds, for their maintenance, monitoring, and modification. This process, called reverse engineering, enables the integrated 3D reconstruction of the physical surfaces of parts or machinery, allowing subsequent intervention in a virtual environment to introduce changes or take accurate measurements down to 0.02 mm. This contactless acquisition system can be used to achieve levels of metrological precision in inspection, reverse engineering, additive manufacturing, and other applications in various manufacturing sectors, including aerospace, rail transport, heavy industry, mold manufacturing, and the medical industry. The investment will enhance the efficiency of the entire production process and the new reverse engineering technology currently being implemented. MipMan, in fact, is currently crucial for the company's technological advancement, which will directly or indirectly impact all aspects of company management and production.
